Camp Scheideck and the Tavern Ride '08
Wow what a day! For a last minute ride the turnout was pretty sweet. There were ten riders on eight bikes. Brain did a great job of calling out the troops and "Mad Dog" Dave Scholl was our road captain when we could find him that is, up ahead on the horizon.
Along for the day's journey were Brain, Dave, Mike & Paula, Craig, Leo, Ron, Rick, Karen, and me (Ronnie). We met up at the Coast Village Chevron and headed south to the 150 to the 33. The morning started cool and crisp becoming warm and sunny as we headed inland. Our first stop was at the Pine Mountain Inn not quite open yet, but the people there were generous with water. Around back was Daisy and Jim Bob she scantily clad and he with a hunting rifle, oops! time to go.
Somewhere along the way must have passed the site of Darryl's Plunge. As we headed up the road taking Lockwood Valley Road crossing the creek, glad I didn't detail my bike beforehand, oh well cool creek crossing. Winding along the narrow road to our lunch destination Camp Scheideck and the tavern. With its vast menu Hamburger or Cheeseburger/ fries or onion rings. Good grub and cold drinks just what this posse needed. As we sat around and enjoyed the sights and sounds of this spot of paradise along life's way, it was nice to have a good group to share this day of passionate riding to parts far away but not that far at all.
