Recovery and Los Alamos Days '11

I know Its been a while since my last journey message. My path has taken a course that months ago I would not have expected. Dealing with health issues can take away from our plans. So after my prostate situation (piece of cake) It was discovered that my Kidney needed some attention, so with the help of my surgeon Dr Alex Koper, his staff and team, the support of my brother Tim, sister Janice, and many others off I went to take care of the kidney tumor. In this day and age medical science has amazing ways to handle these situations. So what we did was to freeze the growth let it die and that should be the end of the ordeal. We will cat scan in a couple of months and that should be it, hopefully! After the surgery and a few days in the hospital home I went. I remain in recovery taking it easy filling my days with activities even a couple of motorcycle rides. I want to be up to speed and return to work and fill my time with the level of work and play that I'm accustomed. The photo with my brother Tim, the hospital dog Timmie, and the handler Tim, go figure. My goals on the board, and Carly one of so many who took such good care of me. A special thanks to my great neighbors Wayne and Kathy, brought me home from the hospital and made sure I had food and attention. Also neighbors Nina, Bruce, and Diego for all their help.

So how does one fill the time after surgery and the extended hospital stay. Well the goal is to get back to normal and return work in a timely fashion. Aside from my normal routine I was able to host Peter and Christine Austrian friends visiting the US on holiday. Peter's mom was my brothers foreign exchange family daughter. Tim has kept in touch and the family visits each other when they can. We had a great visit, 19 years have passed since I last saw Peter, his memory better then mine, ah youth!

Keeping busy can be a lot of work. My first real adventure was to test my strength with a short motorcycle ride. I chose the Elks Club Veterans Poker Run. It was a great day with a good group, and I won the 50/50 now that's having fun.

Few few years ago while working the parking lot shuttle I met so many wonderful people who would ride the shuttle to their work. Many have remained friends and we have kept in touch. Olga, April, and Lyn have been on the receiving end of my emails. We decided to have lunch at the Chase last week. What a great day with three wonderful people. I have a standing invite to many of their events, Fiesta, Summer Solstice always good times.

As I continue my rehab along with establishing my normal routine I extended myself on a ride with Mike an Paula and their new HD trike, what a sweet ride. Along for the ride to Los Alamos Old Days was Brenda and Mark. We had a great day. The event complete with food and beverages, a car show and bang bang shoot em up western show. We've been to this event before and it's always a good time.

I wanted to keep my family and friends up to speed on how I'm moving along. I have received so much kinetic energy from so many, it has helped me so much. I feel it's important for me to express myself and you have supported me in so many ways. A special thanks to each and everyone for the love and support.

enjoy the pics
