Avocado Festival 2008 Carpinteria

The morning started off wet as I journeyed south to cover my shift at the Unity Shoppe Toy Run booth. I arrived in Carp and the Avocado Festival was in full swing despite the rainy weather no ones spirits were dampened. Venders were upbeat and ready for the day to clear up to warmth, sun, and the expected crowds.

I found the booth it was decked with banners and I was greeted by Rick, Lisa, Pete, and our bike. As the drizzle continues to lighten up more peoples visited our booth and conversation about the Unity Shoppe and the Toy Run became more spirited and upbeat. Thanks to Popeye and the Chumash Tribe we were located upfront and in a Prime time location. Also on site to show his support and help was Doug the Guy who comes to your home takes your excess fruit and vegetables and supplies the Food Banks with much needed food

As the morning became mid day the crowds continued to grow. Brain arrived and shortly so did a full contingent of Brotherhood members to help with the event. The Brotherhoods support was so important as they worked the crowd and I'm sure that the ticket sales will show. Between the weather turning nice and their aggressive sales techniques things took off. As the 2 o'clock hour approached.

It was time for me to leave. I'm sure as the day moved on the crowds increased our ticket numbers will show positive sales. Kudos to each and everyone who helped out in so many ways. I.I'm sure that Sunday, especially with great weather from the start, will be a great day for the Unity Shoppe and Toy Run exposure.

Enjoy the pics.
Thanks, Ronnie
